Melissa Lawney

Melissa Lawney is an experienced telecommunications professional currently serving as the Regional Communication Coordinator for Washoe County, State of Nevada, where responsibilities include overseeing the Public Safety Radio System for over 4,000 users across 15 agencies. Prior to this role, Melissa held various engineering and management positions at NV Energy, including Telecommunications Engineering Manager, where leadership extended over multiple teams across the state. Previous experience includes high-stakes assignments as a Field Engineer II at JT3, telecommunications support at ACEP LLC, and an early career as a Surveillance Technician. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.
