Mike Fernandez

Mike Fernandez is an accomplished senior executive in the solid waste management sector with extensive experience in operations and management. Currently serving as the Vice President of Post Collections at Waste Pro USA, Mike oversees landfill, transfer station, and recycling processing operations across a ten-state footprint. Previously, Mike held key positions at the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management, culminating in the role of Director, where oversight included a $700 million budget and nearly 1,200 team members. Additional roles include Deputy Director of Operations, Assistant Director of Disposal Operations, and Senior Division Director of Transfer Operations. Mike is also a Past Director for the Collection and Transfer Technical Board of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). Mike's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Negotiations and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and International Business, both from Florida International University.
