Systems and VoIP Engineer at Watch Communications

Scott Fertig has a range of experience in the IT industry. Scott started their career as a Network Operations employee at Ohio.net in 2008 and worked there until 2013. Scott then transitioned to Hostgator.com, where they served as a Linux Administrator from 2012 to 2014. During this role, they handled various tasks, including resolving webhosting, email, and DNS issues for customers, as well as investigating and resolving security concerns. In 2014, Fertig joined WCOIL as the Head of Network Operations, leading IT projects for clients and supporting their network and server infrastructures. During this time, they also worked as a System Engineer, undertaking projects such as migrating users to new asterisk systems and implementing virtualization platforms. Since 2014, Fertig has been employed by Watch Communications as a Systems and VoIP Engineer, responsible for managing subscribers and trunks, as well as conducting Metaswitch administration.

Scott Fertig attended Stark State College from 2010 to 2011, where they studied Linux Administration. Scott did not obtain a degree during this time. Scott also holds additional certifications, including being a Digium certified Asterisk Administrator, which they obtained from Digium in March 2017, and being a Ubiquiti Broadband Wireless Admin, which they obtained from Microcom Technologies in September 2017.
