Joel Horne

Joel Horne is an experienced professional in international development and humanitarian aid, currently serving as the REAL Water Program Manager at Water Mission since May 2023. In this role, Joel manages a USAID-funded initiative aimed at expanding access to safe and sustainable rural water in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. Prior experience includes serving as a Program Officer at IntraHealth International, coordinating projects in Mali and Senegal, and working as a French Medical Interpreter at University of Iowa Health Care. Joel has also held roles that involved operational management and support for healthcare initiatives in Haiti, contributed to medical education and human rights analysis during an internship at the University of Iowa, and led a volunteer team for International Citizen Service in Burkina Faso. Joel holds a Master's degree in Humanitarian Action and Conflict from Uppsala University and a Bachelor's degree in Politics and International Studies from the University of Exeter.
