Anjani Kapoor

Anjani Kapoor has extensive work experience in the fields of sanitation, water advocacy, climate justice, and journalism.

From 2020 to the present, Anjani works at WaterAid as the CSO Global Coordination Manager for Sanitation and Water for All. Previously, from 2020 to 2021, they served as the CSO Engagement Coordinator for the same organization.

In 2019, Anjani had a role at UNICEF, where they focused on communications and advocacy for Sanitation and Water for All. Anjani played a key role in producing various content formats, including news articles, blogs, and video interviews. Anjani also conducted interviews with various organizations and acted as a civil society liaison in multiple countries.

In 2018, Anjani worked as a Civil Society Consultant for Sanitation and Water for All at WaterAid and also had a role in digital advocacy for End Water Poverty.

Prior to their work at WaterAid, in 2018, Anjani was a Climate Justice Researcher. Anjani conducted qualitative research on the disappearing island of Ghoramara in the Sundarban Delta complex and created a documentary film highlighting the effects of climate change on coastal communities.

Anjani also has experience in journalism. Anjani worked as an Associate Producer at India Today from 2013 to 2015. Before that, they held roles as an Assistant Producer at NEWSX and as a Senior Reporter at Times Network. Anjani started their journalism career as a Reporter at the India Today Group and also worked as a Citizen Journalist at Bizsol Advisors Pvt Ltd and Merinews.com.

Additionally, Anjani has a background in video editing and content production. Anjani briefly worked as an Editor at Global Citizen in 2017 and contributed to the creation of social media content and marketing materials. Anjani also gained experience in video production during their time at Global Citizen Festivals in Hamburg and New York.

Anjani Kapoor received a Bachelor's degree in English (Honours) from MCM DAV College in India in the years 2005 to 2008. Anjani then pursued a Master's degree in Journalism from Symbiosis Institute Of Media And Communication, Pune from 2008 to 2010. Later on, Anjani completed a Master's degree in Sustainability Science and Human Ecodynamics from The City University of New York between 2016 and 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Anjani acquired several certifications. Anjani obtained a certificate in Multi-Stakeholders Platforms for Water Governance from the Global Water Partnership in November 2022. In September 2020, they earned a certificate in "How Change Happens: Demonstrating the Impact of your advocacy" from Bond UK. Similarly, they obtained a certificate in "Developing an Advocacy Strategy" from Bond UK in July 2020. Anjani also obtained certificates in Climate Change from Coursera Course Certificates in August 2015, and in Public Policy Challenges of the 21st Century from Coursera Verified Certificates in August 2015.
