Nikyta Polyak

Nikyta Polyak is a Technical Project Manager at Wattpad. Nikyta has over a year of experience in the field and has previously worked as a Scrum Master & Technical Project Manager at Flexiti. In this role, they were responsible for aligning weekly with all business leaders across the Flexiti team on priorities for the Product Operations team with an output of one prioritised backlog. Additionally, they managed all incidents of production outages including triage, reporting and team management to resolution.

Polyak is skilled in assisting Product Owner and Application Architect in gathering requirements for product decisions for business and vendor product enhancements. Nikyta also has experience working closely with and coaching the development team on specification, planning and execution of core product deliveries and key releases using SCRUM and KanBan to ensure continuous quality delivery. Furthermore, they are able to facilitate large group meetings, focus groups, and brainstorming workshops within the Scrum Master team to improve process and delivery within the Engineering Team.

In their previous role, Polyak also continuously monitored active production outages and business product requests to ensure all work was delivered within scope and on time. Furthermore, they ensured JIRA and Confluence tooling was configured and working effectively for teams while monitoring their correct usage. Lastly, they sought to identify and understand dependencies, anticipate potential conflicts and risks, and communicate with stakeholders to reduce risks and resolve potential issues in advance of delivery.

Nikyta Polyak studied at Wilfrid Laurier University, where they obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Contemporary Studies. Nikyta also participated in an international study exchange at Corvinus University of Budapest.

Nikyta Polyak is certified by ICAgile in Agile Coaching Certification (ICP-ACC), Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and Udemy in Product Management. Nikyta has also completed a certification from Ken Blanchard in Situational Leadership II.
