Kari DeJong has extensive experience in education, currently serving as an Elementary Math Lab Teacher at Waukee Community School District since September 2014 and has also worked as a Substitute Teacher within the district. Prior to this, Kari DeJong was an Independent Consultant for Rodan + Fields starting in May 2017, and a Stay-At-Home Mom from June 2009 to August 2014. Kari DeJong's earlier roles include serving as a Special Education Support Teacher at Des Moines Public Schools from 2007 to 2009, where professional development for Special Education teachers was provided, and as a Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher at the Downtown School in Des Moines Public Schools from 2001 to 2007, where a multi-age classroom utilizing Project Based Learning was managed. Kari DeJong holds a Master’s degree in Effective Teaching, Learning and Leadership from Drake University and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood from the University of Northern Iowa.
