Friederike Jöhlinger

Photonics Engineer at Wave Photonics

Friederike Jöhlinger is currently a Photonics Engineer at Wave Photonics, a role they started in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the same company as a Quantum Key Distribution Researcher from October 2021 to March 2022. In 2016, Friederike was a Summer Student at the University of Glasgow, where they focused on investigating solutions for faster data transmission. Friederike also gained experience as a Summer Student at DESY in 2015, simulating test beams and analyzing results, and at the University of Glasgow in 2015, where they worked on speeding up phase reconstruction algorithms for scanning transmission electron microscopy. In 2014, Friederike worked as a Summer Student at Diamond Light Source, developing a plug-in for Control System Studio.

Friederike Jöhlinger's education history includes a Master of Science (MSci) degree in Physics from the University of Glasgow, which they completed between 2012 and 2017. Following this, they pursued a PhD at the University of Bristol as a student in the CDT for Quantum Engineering, specializing in Physics. Friederike began their PhD studies in 2017 and is expected to complete them in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Friederike Jöhlinger obtained a Professional Certificate in Essentials of Cybersecurity from the University of Washington in January 2022.
