Biliana Grozdanova is the Production Manager of Branded/Commercial for Wavelength Studios. Originally from Bulgaria, she grew up living all over the world. Along the journey, she developed an immense passion for the documentary arts. In 2009, she graduated from the University Complutense of Madrid with a BA in Audiovisual Communications. Biliana launched her career in filmmaking with “Ortigueira: Echoes At Land’s End,” a music documentary capturing the 40-year-old Celtic Music Festival of Ortigueira, Spain. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Chicago with a Masters of Arts in Humanities & Film and started freelancing for the social justice documentary powerhouse Kartemquin Films.
The explosion of Hollywood South led Biliana to New Orleans, where she spent five years production-managing dozens of projects. Most notably, she was Production Manager for Roberto Minervini’s “What You Gonna Do When The World’s On Fire” (Venice 2018 Official Selection). In 2019, she moved to Brooklyn to work on “Signal,” a climate-focused documentary series produced by Civil Society Media. In addition to production management, Biliana deeply enjoys storytelling. Most recently, she co-directed “A Fine Girl” with the support of Field of Vision’s If/Then Shorts Program.
