Michael McKiernan

Michael is responsible for the professional development of 500 software engineers, application engineers, data engineers, system engineers, network engineers, product managers, technical program managers, user experience designers and project managers at Wayfair. Michael is based in Seattle and his teams are located in North America (primarily Boston, Austin, Toronto, Seattle, and Mountain View), Europe (primarily Berlin), and India (primarily Bengaluru). Michael's Enterprise Technology team builds and operates services, products, applications, and tools that enable 15K Wayfair warehouse operations, contact center, finance, talent, legal, and commercial employees to make 26MM customers' homes beautiful.

Michael has extensive experience in Enterprise Software, Employee Technology, and Infrastructure Technology. Prior to Wayfair, Michael was the Director of Engineering of Finance Technology at Amazon where he had responsibility for product and engineering technology for a large swath of Amazon financial systems. Prior to joining Amazon, Michael was a Vice President Information Technology and Infrastructure at Citrix - where he had responsibility for Employee Technology and Enterprise Technology. Additionally, Michael has experience at McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and Accenture.

Michael is a common sense technology guy on a journey for challenge, learning and fun. He is dad to Rozy (18) and Arianne (20), and partner to Diana who are his source of both inspiration and harmony. He studied finance and economics at Trinity College Dublin, and operations & information management at the University of Pennsylvania. He enjoys painting, hiking, Halloween, and woo woo.
