Erin began her career as a Teach For America corps member in Baton Rouge, LA, teaching English Language Arts to middle schoolers. She quickly fell in love with teaching and continued her education journey working in district and charter schools in Atlanta, New Orleans, Lynn, MA, Boston, and Chicago. After seeing how inequitable discipline structures and whole school culture were negatively impacting the students she taught and their ability to thrive academically and personally, she enrolled in a graduate program to focus on identifying risk and promotive factors in students’ lives in hopes of creating systems level change toward educational equity.
