Kai Ding

Kai Ding is a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Tech Lead Manager at Waymo, with a focus on Behavior Prediction using advanced learning and planning techniques to anticipate the actions of autonomous vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. Prior to Waymo, Kai worked at Google from January 2012 to December 2016 as a Senior Software Engineer, where contributions included the Behavior Prediction for the self-driving car project as well as work in mobile display ads, social ads, and Google Hangouts. Kai's professional journey began with an internship as a Software Development Engineer at Microsoft Game Studios in 2011. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Digital Media Technology from Zhejiang University.
