Rashmi Hegde

Rashmi Hegde is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in system safety and autonomous vehicle technology. Currently serving as Staff Technical Lead and Manager in Software System Safety at Waymo since November 2019, Rashmi previously held multiple roles at Ford Motor Company, including Technical Lead and Systems Safety Engineer, focusing on autonomous vehicle systems and functional safety. Rashmi's earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, where an algorithm for motion planning in autonomous agents was developed, and roles at Stryker and the Indian Institute of Science. Rashmi holds a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on Control Systems from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
