Trent Victor

Trent Victor currently serves as the Director of Safety Research and Best Practices at Waymo, a position held since June 2020. Prior to this role, Trent was the Senior Technical Leader for Crash Avoidance at Volvo Car Group, contributing to the management team at Volvo Cars Safety Centre from October 2013 to June 2020, focusing on future safety needs in crash avoidance. In an academic capacity, Trent held positions as Adjunct Professor of Crash Avoidance and Driver Behavior at Chalmers University of Technology and as Adjunct Professor at the University of Iowa between 2013 and 2019. Additionally, Trent has a notable background with Volvo Group Trucks Technology as a Senior Strategic Specialist in Human-Machine Interaction from 1996 to September 2013. Trent Victor earned a PhD from Uppsala University.
