James Wurm

James Wurm is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in research information technology and academic IT management. Currently serving as Senior Director of Research Information Technology at Wayne State University since November 2020, James previously held key positions at Wayne State University School of Medicine as Senior Director and CIO, and at Macomb Community College as Director of IT, Client Technologies and Media Systems. James’s foundational roles at Wayne State University included Director of Desktop Engineering, Manager of IT Computer Support, and various systems administrator positions. James’s career began at Futuramic as a Desktop Support Technician. With a Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Wayne State University, James combines technical expertise with strong managerial skills.
