Kelly Dormer

Director, Academic Programs at Wayne State University

Kelly Dormer has extensive experience in academic and vocational rehabilitation, currently serving as the Director of Academic Programs and previously as the Associate Director for Strategic Academic Initiatives and Disability Specialist at Wayne State University since October 2013. In these roles, Kelly focuses on providing equal access to educational resources by determining appropriate accommodations and advocating for inclusive campus experiences. Prior to Wayne State University, Kelly served as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, assisting a diverse caseload of high school students in their transition to work and post-secondary education. Earlier experience includes a role as a Rehabilitation Counselor at the Capital Area Center for Independent Living and an internship with Michigan Rehabilitation Services. Kelly holds an M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling and a B.A. in Social Relations and Policy, both from Michigan State University.
