Zaharaa Altwaij

Zaharaa Altwaij is currently a Special Ed Paraeducator at Wayne-Westland Community Schools, a position held since November 2025. Prior to this role, Zaharaa worked as an OB-GYN Medical Assistant at Together Women's Health from June 2025 to November 2025. Academic experience includes serving as a Precalculus Tutor for Online Experiences for Yale Scholars and as an Undergraduate Biology Research Assistant in the Nachtergaele Lab at Yale University from June 2022 to August 2025. Additionally, Zaharaa was an Undergraduate Research Fellow at Women's Health Research at Yale and held various positions at Elena's Light, Dwight Hall At Yale, and the Yale Institute for Global Health. Zaharaa earned a Bachelor of Arts in History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health, with a focus on Gender, Reproduction, and the Body, from Yale University, following the completion of a high school diploma at Crestwood High School in 2021.
