Chris Nicholls

Chris Nicholls is a Principal Engineer at Wayve, leading the model development team focused on training large transformer models for autonomous driving in London since August 2022. Previously, Chris served as a Principal Engineer and Tech Lead for R&D at Improbable from May 2013 to July 2022, driving innovation in distributed simulation and multiplayer gaming technology. Earlier experience includes roles as an Analyst at GSA Capital, where responsibilities involved enhancing system robustness for a hedge fund, and as a Consultant at Detica, utilizing data analysis for fraud detection. Chris also conducted research at the Oxford Computing Lab and developed a 3D tracking system for the Python Software Foundation during a summer internship at Google. Chris holds an MSc in Mathematics & Computer Science from the University of Oxford.
