Yasutaka Furukawa

Yasutaka Furukawa is a Principal Scientist at Wayve since March 2024 and serves as an Associate Professor at Simon Fraser University since September 2017. Previously, Yasutaka held the position of Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis from July 2013 to September 2017 and worked as a Software Engineer at Google Inc. on the 3D imaging team in Seattle from January 2010 to July 2013. Yasutaka's early career includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington from July 2008 to December 2009 and a Research Associate role at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from August 2003 to May 2008, along with summer internships at Industrial Light and Magic in 2006 and 2007. Yasutaka obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Tokyo.
