Craig Cheatham

Chief Investigative Reporter at WCPO 9 News

Craig Cheatham began their work experience as a Reporter/Anchor at KOIN-TV in 1992. Craig provided live coverage of various events and testified as an "expert witness" during a legislative hearing, which resulted in the implementation of new laws. In 1999, they joined KMOV-TV as an Investigative Reporter, where they worked until 2015. During their time there, Cheatham took on the role of Chief Investigative Reporter at WCPO-TV in 2016, where they were responsible for in-depth investigations and quick-turn enterprise stories. Craig was recognized as a finalist for the 2017 national Scripps Howard Award and the 2018 IRE award. Cheatham also held the position of Asst. News Director at KSTP-TV in 2015, where they played a key role in content management and branding, and helped establish and manage a six-person investigative unit.

Craig Cheatham earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky in 1984. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, which they completed in 2013.
