Carly Smith

Carly Smith is an experienced meteorologist currently working at WDTN-TV since January 2019. Prior to this role, Carly served as the Weekend Meteorologist at Kauz News Channel 6 from November 2016 to December 2018 and held positions as Weekend Weather Anchor/MMJ at both KKCO and KJCT News 8 in 2016. Additionally, Carly was the VOST Team Lead at the National Weather Service from November 2014 to December 2015, where responsibilities included monitoring social media during significant weather events and developing the VOST initiative. Early in the career, Carly gained experience as a Weather Intern at KCBD-TV, focusing on weather graphics and viewer communication. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Electronic Media and Communication from Texas Tech University. Carly also has a background in dance, having worked as a teacher and choreographer at Dance Gallery from 2011 to 2015.
