Steve Tremaine has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Steve started their career at Tektronix in 1985 as an R&D engineer, where they designed and patented IC test system interfaces and developed analog and video control systems for oscilloscopes and accessories. Steve also led program teams to deliver new products. In 1992, they joined HP as a manufacturing engineer before returning to Tektronix in 1997 as a manufacturing engineering section manager.
In 2003, Steve joined Xerox as a manufacturing controller, where they managed a multi-million-dollar manufacturing operating budget and oversaw the development of standard costs. Steve later took on roles as a finance executive, responsible for R&D performance and consolidations, and a financial executive focused on new business and strategic partnership development.
From 2012 to 2017, Steve served as the CFO of the Ulven Companies Inc, a privately held firm consisting of 5 operating companies and 5 holding companies. The Ulven Companies specialized in manufacturing forged or cast steel parts, machining to specification, and providing lifting and rigging components. They also serviced the aerospace industry.
Most recently, Steve has been the CFO at Weatherby Inc. since 2017. In this role, they have successfully improved earnings and sales growth by implementing KPIs and quarterly outlooks. Steve also reduced inventory and operational expenses without affecting customer satisfaction and achieved a 15% sales growth while managing down the number of SKUs.
Steve Tremaine pursued their education in a systematic manner, focusing primarily on engineering and finance. Steve started their academic journey in 1981 and completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 1985. Following this, they enrolled at Washington State University in 1987 and obtained their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) in 1989, further specializing in the field of Electrical Engineering. Steve then decided to enhance their knowledge in finance and attended Oregon State University from 1994 to 1996, earning their Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) with a concentration in Finance. Steve's education journey reflects their diverse interests and an ongoing commitment to continuous learning.
