Vice President - Drilling Services at Weatherford

Julio Loreto has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Julio began their career as a Telecommunications Engineer at PDVSA Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. in 1994, where they worked on the design and installation of a monitoring system for a national gas pipeline. Loreto then joined Schlumberger in 1997, starting as a Field Drilling Services Engineer and eventually taking on roles such as Service Quality Coach, Field Service Manager, and Operations Manager in different regions including Gulf of Mexico, West Venezuela, and Alaska.

In 2003, Loreto transitioned to the role of Health and Safety Director, responsible for safety management in Venezuela and the Caribbean. Julio implemented new processes to reduce workplace risks in accordance with country regulations. Loreto then became Operations Manager of Drilling & Measurements business in Alaska, where they restructured the organization to align with customers and achieved outstanding customer satisfaction.

After their time in Alaska, Loreto moved to Mexico and Centro America as the Operations Manager, overseeing a $300M/year business with full P&L responsibility. Julio successfully restructured four regions into a central facility, creating a "Center of Excellence". Loreto then took on the role of Product Development Manager, leading a multi-site organization in the development and promotion of Schlumberger's LWD Acoustic portfolio.

In 2016, Loreto joined IE Business School as an Executive MBA Candidate before joining Weatherford later that year. At Weatherford, they served as the Business Unit Manager for Latin America, Vice President of Mexico, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Drilling Services.

Throughout their career, Loreto has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a track record of delivering results. Julio has a proven ability to build successful business partnerships, drive sales, and improve customer relationships.

Julio Loreto completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from IE Business School in 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar between the years 1989 and 1994. In addition, they have obtained certification in "The Six Morning Habits of High Performers" from LinkedIn, although the specific month of attainment is not provided.
