Joaquin Ugarte

Joaquin Ugarte has a wealth of experience in the field of data and artificial intelligence. In 2018, they held the role of VP of Data and AI and VP of Engineering and AI at Webdox Legal. Prior to this, they were a Machine Learning Engineer at the same company. From 2015 to 2013, they were an R&D Engineer II and R&D Engineer at Synopsys Inc. In 2014, they were an Investigador en Visión Artificial at Universidad de los Andes, where they developed applications to label and generate databases of scenes using images and videos, using C++, OpenCV and Qt, and developed programs in Python using OpenCV. In 2012, they were also an Investigador en Visión Artificial at Universidad de los Andes, where they developed a library to implement different types of camera with OpenCV, using C++ and OpenCV, and had experience in tracking and object recognition using methods such as SIFT and SURF. In 2013, they held a Práctica Profesional role at Synopsys.

Joaquin Ugarte obtained their Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (CL) between 2008 and 2014. Joaquin also obtained a High School degree from The Newland School between 1994 and 2007. In addition, they have two certifications: a Data Scientist certification from DataCamp obtained in October 2018, and a Descentralized Applications certification from School of AI.
