Alex Wapia has a relatively diverse work experience. Starting in 2006, they worked at H&M as a Sales Associate for five years. In 2010, they took on the role of Editor-in-Chief at McGill University and also worked as an Administrator at the Montreal Children's Hospital. In 2012, Alex became a Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant at Western University. Moving forward, they transitioned to roles such as Communications Coordinator at the London Municipal Election - Ward 7 and Cash Lead at Victoria's Secret. In 2014, they joined Drive Creative Group as an Account Manager and then became the Manager of Digital and Social Media Solutions at The Marketing Department. Alex then furthered their career as a Digital Specialist and later as a Digital Strategist at The T1 Agency from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Manager, Integrated Media at Weber Shandwick, and as of October 2022, they have taken on the role of Director, Platform Strategy at the same company.

Alex Wapia has a strong educational background, completing a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in American Studies from Western University in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from McGill University in 2012, where they majored in History and double minored in Communications and Psychology. Before attending McGill University, Alex Wapia pursued a D.E.C. degree in Law, Society, and Justice at Dawson College from 2007 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications, including a Social Media Certification from Hootsuite in 2017, and certifications in Brand Building Basics, Internet Marketing Basics, and Viral Marketing: Crafting Shareable Content from lynda.com in 2014.
