William Manning

Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball at Webster University Leiden

William Manning started at Webster University in the Fall of 2021.

Manning came to Webster after spending the 2021 season at Jacksonville College as the Lead Assistant Coach and the Director of Player Development. While with Jacksonville College, Manning recorded and analyzed film, designed charts and spreadsheets based on on-court stats, created strength and conditioning programs, tracked athletes academic success, and planned all operational logistics.

Prior to his time at Jacksonville College, Manning served as the Head Basketball Coach at Texas A&M University-San Antonio from 2016-2018. He helped improve the teams record by 60% over two seasons and was named the Coach of the Year. As head coach, Manning charted and analyzed stats to develop a successful approach to the game and executed strategic team and individual skill training programs while collecting and organizing athletic and administrative data to adhere to league rules and regulations.

In addition, Manning spent time at San Antonio College from 2012-2014 as the Lead Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development. While with San Antonio College, Manning helped lead the team to back-to-back league titles. He also helped design strength and conditioning programs, collected data to present to the head coach, and analyzed team and opponent film to develop game strategies.

Off the court, Manning has won several awards throughout his coaching career. He won the U.S. Presidential Community Award (2017), was named Mr. Texas A&M University-San Antonio (2017), and was named Coach Mentor of the Year (2018).

Manning played his college basketball at Schreiner University from 2010-2012 and earned his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in 2016. He also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 2020.
