About the Role

Our ideal Manager of Financial Reporting has a strong work ethic with a depth of experience handling IFRS-compliant financial reporting and complex consolidations. This hands-on role will report directly to the VP, Finance. Success in this role requires critical thinking and the ability to identify and solve problems with confidence. We are an innovative and energetic team and are looking for a like-minded person that appreciates an informal and social culture but is also willing to work hard to deliver a high standard of work when deadlines need to be met. Our team works completely remote with regular check-ins and weekly stand ups. The hours of this position can be flexible. 

Location: Canada (Remote)

Responsibilities

  • Own the consolidation process (from trial balance to statements) for a growing portfolio of companies

  • Work with our corporate parent for quarterly and annual compliance and consolidation needs

  • Compile financial statements for statutory audits as required by the jurisdictions in which we operate

  • Prepare supporting schedules and analyses as needed

  • Be the point person with our external auditors during quarterly review and annual audits

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the consolidation and reporting functions and implement best practices

  • Assist with special projects such as system implementations, ad hoc analysis and business combinations

  • Support the finance team as needed on compliance matters

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a CPA designation and proven IFRS experience

  • Experience implementing and applying IFRS, especially as it relates to revenue recognition/deferred revenue and business combinations

  • Industry experience in a financial reporting role working with multiple currencies, intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments

  • Strong project management skill in order to plan, execute and prioritize multiple initiatives

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and productively within a remote work structure.

  • The ability to communicate clearly and articulately with colleagues and senior management.

  • A passion for learning and commitment to personal and professional growth.

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, with the ability to synthesize and communicate information.

  • The ability to learn quickly, retain information and apply it to your work.

Other experience that would be considered an asset:

  • Experience with OneStream, Vena, Workiva/Wdesk

  • Auditing experience

  • Experience in the SaaS or technology industry

Compensation

We offer a starting salary of $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 CAD depending on experience. We take a holistic approach to compensation at WeCommerce. Total compensation includes salary, benefits, RRSP, ESPP, and other perks.
