Liz McGovern

Liz McGovern has an extensive background in the medical field, with a focus on providing primary and urgent care to diverse populations. Liz has worked as a Family Physician in various organizations, including the Lynn Community Health Center and the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. In these roles, they provided medical assessments to refugees and delivered prenatal care to pregnant women. Additionally, Liz has experience in international development, as they founded and led an international NGO called WEEMA International. Through this organization, they partnered with local communities in Ethiopia to deliver essential services such as clean water, healthcare, education, and food security.

Liz McGovern has a Bachelor's Degree from Haverford College, which they obtained from 1987 to 1991. Liz then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1993 to 1997, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Following that, Liz completed their residency at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency from 1997 to 2000 and became Board Certified in Family Medicine. Recently, from 2023 to 2027, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London.
