João Pedro Paro

João Pedro Paro is the current Managing Director and Senior Compliance Officer at wefox. João has held this position since January of 2022. Prior to their current role, they served as the Senior Compliance Officer at wefox from January 2020 to December 2020. Before that, they were an attorney at IBM from January 2019 to December 2019. João also worked as a Regulatory Consultant at Compliance and Risks from January 2018 to December 2018. Additionally, they were the Operational Project Coordinator at Universidade de São Paulo from January 2016 to December 2017. João started their career as a Junior Legal Compliance at MALUF E GIRAIGIRE ADVOGADOS from January 2015 to December 2016.

João Pedro Paro has a PhD in International Law and Legal Studies from the University of Lisbon, an LLM in Public Law from Universidade de São Paulo, and is a Specialist in Compliance and European Economic Criminal Law from Universidade de Coimbra. João also has a Cybersecurity Managing Risk in the Information Age certification from Harvard University, and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMLS) from ACAMS.
