Scott Michael Freid

City Partner, Austin at Weitzman Management

Scott Freid is City Partner and head of the Austin office of Weitzman. Freid is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Austin office. He oversees the brokerage team for Weitzman, as well as its acquisition/development/ management staff. In recent years, Freid negotiated the purchase and sale of a 1.4-million-square-foot retail portfolio of eight properties in the Austin area, the acquisition and subsequent sale of a 120,000-square-foot H-E-B-anchored center, a ground lease with Target at Capital Plaza, the acquisition of six shopping centers with Kimco totaling +/- 636,000 square feet, the acquisition of 39 acres adjacent to H-E-B Plus in Round Rock, and the development of three Walmart-peripheral shopping centers totaling 160,000 square feet. He also led the development of a 42,000-square-foot mixed-use project in Central Austin. Prior to taking over the Austin operations, Freid worked for Weitzman in Dallas on new project development including the negotiations for a new development with Home Depot in The Colony, Texas, along with the asset management of 12 centers in Weitzman’s D-FW shopping center portfolio. He also directed Weitzman’s Research Department and was responsible for its broker/intern training programs.
