Franco Herrera is a PhD student at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Prof. Yardena Samuels' lab since September 2024. Prior experience includes a summer research internship at Cima Universidad de Navarra under Prof. Sandra Hervas-Stubbs from June 2023 to September 2024, and a role as a student ambassador for the School of Biological Sciences at The University of Manchester from September 2022 to September 2024. Franco pursued a Master of Science in Genetics at The University of Manchester from 2019 to 2024 and served as a student while also coaching football at St. Bede's College, Manchester from September 2022 to June 2023. Additionally, Franco held the position of Head of Wet Lab for the University of Manchester's iGEM team during the 2022 competition, leading the team to win a gold medal in Paris after 11 months of dedicated work.
