Cathy Fraser is the Chief People Officer for Welbe Health. She is responsible for the people strategies and services that fuel the fulfillment and expansion of their mission, improving the quality of health and lives of their most vulnerable elders. She leads innovative and transformative programs in the people area covering a broadly defined team member life cycle, with a keen focus on values/culture, career pipelines and pathways, team member experience, and diversity/inclusion/equity.
Cathy joined WelbeHealth in 2022. Previously, she led Human Resources at Mayo Clinic, US News and World Report’s #1 Hospital, and Tenet Healthcare, a large national healthcare services company. Earlier in her career, she served as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, helping clients with organization and human capital opportunities primarily in the retail and consumer industries. She also worked in various finance leadership and expert roles at American Airlines, Sabre, and General Motors.
Cathy’s passion is addressing difficult people's challenges using data-driven analysis and innovative thinking. She is an expert at improving the performance of large organizations that rely on people as their greatest asset, through an employee-centric approach with a keen focus on cost and investment. She is particularly interested in creating life-long careers for team members through career pipelines and pathway programs that continually invest in the growth and development of employees. She embraces the principles of the employee as a consumer (a person who makes the choice of where to work by considering a broadly defined value proposition, inclusive of financial, work, and social aspects of life) and agile organization (a workforce that continually evolves to meet the changing interests and needs of team members and customer.)
Cathy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of Michigan. She is currently a board member of Lori’s Gifts, a private-equity portfolio company. She is involved in a number of professional organizations primarily related to health topics and professional women’s advancement. She currently serves on the board of trustees of the American Association of Cancer Research Foundation and is a member of the Women’s Corporate Directors. Previously, she was the Chairman of the Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas, an Associate Board member of the Financial Partners Credit Union, and a Board Member of The Board Connection, a Dallas-based organization promoting the advancement of women on public company boards.
Cathy is married with a college-aged daughter. She works in Long Beach, California, and maintains her primary residence in Dallas, Texas and secondary residence in Seattle, Washington.
