Raquel Villarreal has a diverse work experience that spans from 2008 to 2019. Raquel began their career as a Webmaster for the Austin Student Chapter of The Society of Professional Journalists in 2008. Raquel then went on to become an Editorial Intern for Austin Monthly Magazine in 2009, as well as Time Out New York and Texas Monthly. In 2009, they were also an Associate Editor for The Daily Texan (The University of Texas at Austin). From 2009 to 2016, Raquel worked for Leaf Group as a Content Manager, International and Editor. During this time, they grew the business from zero to more than 50 million unique users and 280 million page views/month. From 2016 to 2019, Raquel worked for Turnitin as an International Marketing Manager, Latin America, where they assisted in growing the business in Latin America by 500%. Additionally, they were a Consultant for Welcome Technologies and an Advisor for VIRMAR from 2019.
Raquel Villarreal attended American School Foundation of Monterrey from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained their high school degree. Raquel then attended Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2003 to 2006, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Following this, they attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Journalism. Most recently, they obtained a Master's degree in Internet Business from ISDI in 2018-2019.
