Kim Shelton-Brown has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Kim is currently the Vice President of Technical Development at Welding Outlets Inc. Prior to this, they worked at MRC Global as the Senior Director of Stainless and Alloy PFF from 2016 to 2021. Kim also held the position of Director of Business Development - National Accounts at Southwest Stainless & Alloy from 2015 to 2016. Kim has extensive experience at TW Metals Europe & SEA, TW Metals USA, where they served as Outside Account Manager, Outside Sales Manager, and Branch Manager from 2005 to 2015. Before that, they worked for ThyssenKrupp Materials in various roles, including Outside Sales for Aluminium Plate and Specialised Products, and Internal Sales for Piping Products/Aerospace Contract Sales. Kim also worked at Amari Metals International as part of the Internal Sales and Contract Aerospace Sales team. Kim began their career at Nitriding Services Ltd as a Process Control Shift Manager, followed by roles as a Business Development Manager at Hillfoot Steel Group Ltd and Quality Manager at C Brown and Sons (Steel) Ltd. Kim started their career in 1986 at British Steel as a Process Control Metallurgist/Test House Manager.

Kim Shelton-Brown holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Metallurgy from the University of Birmingham. They also earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Materials Sciences and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Metallurgical Engineering, both from the University of Birmingham. In addition, Kim has obtained certifications in various welding technologies from the University of Wolverhampton, including GTA W (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), SMA W (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), Plate and Pipe Beveling, Hand Torches and Grinders, Air Carbon Arc Gouging, Plasma Arc, GMA W (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCA W (Flux Core Arc Welding).

Kim Shelton-Brown holds additional certifications as well. They are a Houston Chapter Member of ASM International and have been an NACE Individual Member since March 2021.
