Alysse Dowdy

Alysse Dowdy is an experienced operations coordinator currently working at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia since February 2023. Previously, Alysse served as the Assistant Director of Business Operations at Hummingbird Macarons & Desserts from July 2021 to February 2023 and worked as a private tutor at Varsity Tutors from October 2019 to June 2022. Alysse's background also includes the role of School Education Manager at Learning Care Group, where responsibilities involved training and coaching teachers in curriculum implementation. Additionally, Alysse was a 1st Grade General Education Teacher at Center City Public Charter Schools from August 2017 to July 2020, supported by a Teaching Fellowship from Urban Teachers. Alysse holds a Master of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Johns Hopkins University School of Education and two Bachelor's degrees from the University of Virginia in Youth & Social Innovations and American Studies with a concentration in Race & Ethnicity.
