Job Purpose:
As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you will report directly to the Sr.Manager of IT Operations and work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration and administration of production IT infrastructure especially networking infrastructure including switches, firewalls and load-balancers. You will manage and maintain web server configuration, networks and services and you will serve as the point of contact for the resolution of function and technical problems.
Responsibilities:
In charge of the maintenance, configuration and administration of production IT infrastructure especially networking infrastructure including switches, firewalls and load-balancers.
Manage and maintain web server configurations, including load balancing and caching.
Monitor and maintain network and services, like VPN, Firewalls, Application Services, etc.
Install, configure, maintain Linux on servers, application software, and system management tools.
Linux server administration including managing and configuring packages and filesystems
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of Azure and Windows systems administration, implementation, and monitoring.
Investigate and troubleshoot outages as needed and ensure we meet operational SLAs
Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support of production systems
Work with Development teams to deploy custom applications in the environment as needed
Create and maintain documentation of systems processes and procedures.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve functional and technical problems
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of IT experience focused on infrastructure which includes server, storage, network, and security.
Proven knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian).
Good grasp of networking concepts such as IP network addressing, IPSec, TLS, DNS
Hands on experience managing networking appliances such as Firewall,WAF
Experience with webserver and load balancer administration / apache, nginx.
Scripting Language skills using PowerShell, Python and/or bash
Excellent problem solving skills especially in highly technical areas
Experience managing logging, monitoring and alerting systems
Hands-on experience with SIEM tool - Sumologic or Splunk.
Experience with Microsoft Windows server administration including Active Directory and Group Policy is preferred
Experience integrating Linux machines into a Windows domain is preferred
Experience in using version control tools like Subversion (SVN), GIT is preferred
Experience with CI/CD systems is a plus
Possession of excellent documentation, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
Good understanding of high-availability solutions (cluster, load-balancer), backup,disaster recovery and business continuity principles
Experience with Azure Virtual Network, Azure DNS,Firewall concepts is a plus
Required Education:
B.S. Degree in Computer Science recommended
