Joan Depastino has an extensive work experience in the medical field, with their most recent role being the Lead NICU Respiratory Therapist at Wellington Regional Medical Center since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an RRT-NPS NICU at the same facility, starting in March 2013.

Before joining Wellington Regional Medical Center, Joan worked at Boca Raton Regional Hospital as an RRT from November 2010 to April 2013. Earlier in their career, they were a Perinatal Specialist and part of the Transport Team at St. Mary's Medical Center from December 1999 to July 2008.

Joan further pursued their education at the same institution and completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from 2013 to 2021. In 1977, they attended Newbury College for one year, specializing in Respiratory Care Therapy/Therapist.

Joan Depastino also holds several certifications, including Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) obtained in 1992 from the National Board for Respiratory Care - NBRC, Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist (CRT-NPS) received in 1990 from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), CRRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care - NBRC acquired in 1978, NRP Instructor certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics obtained in 2021, and STABLE LEAD INSTRUCTOR certification from The Stable Program gained in 2019.
