Huayu Tong

Huayu Tong is a Research and Development Engineer at PRET Advanced Materials LLC, with prior experience as a Product Development Engineer at Zymeron Corporation, where innovative in vitro diagnostics for home use were designed and developed. Huayu also contributed significantly at Sparta Biomedical as a Research Collaborator, leading the development of a Class III medical implant and securing $5M in seed financing. At Duke University, Huayu worked as a Research Assistant, focusing on hydrogel-coated orthopedic implants that received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, and held roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Safety Manager. Huayu began research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Nanjing University, developing flexible, carbon-based electronic skin technologies. Huayu holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Duke University.
