Douglas D. Laird

Douglas Laird has worked at Skogman Realty over the past twenty-one years, serving as Broker Associate, Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Prior to that, Mr. Laird worked in senior management roles in the healthcare field, including John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, St. Luke’s Methodist Hospital, Cedar Rapids, and Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Laird was born and raised in Iowa. He received a Bachelors in Business Administration from Iowa State University, and a Masters in Hospital/Healthcare Administration from the University of Iowa. He also possesses the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Manager) certification and the SIOR (Society for Industrial Office Realtor) designation. He was a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Mr. Laird has a long history of service to his community, church, Rotary club, and non-profit boards, focusing on healthcare delivery. This includes service as Chair of both the Continuing Care Hospital Board at St. Luke’s Methodist Hospital and the St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation Board. He has also been a Director of Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa, UnityPoint/St. Luke’s Board, His Hands Free Medical Clinic, Aging Services, and an Elder at Faith Bible Church. He served as Rotary District 5970 Foundation Chair and is Past-President of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary Club. He and his wife Sharon have been married forty-five years and have four adult children, with thirteen amazing grandchildren.
