Troy Comstock

Regional Medical Director, Florida at WellMed

Troy Comstock is a medical doctor who currently serves as the Regional Medical Director for Florida at WellMed. Troy has over 20 years of experience in the medical field, having worked as a hospitalist, assistant medical director, and private practice physician.

Comstock's career began in 2002 when they opened their own private internal medicine practice in Troy, Michigan. Troy ran their successful solo practice for five years before being recruited by Scottsdale Healthcare in 2007 to join their hospitalist group. In their four years with Scottsdale Healthcare, Comstock served as an attending physician and Assistant Medical Director. Troy was responsible for providing inpatient care to patients admitted to Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak, as well as supervising other hospitalists in the group.

In 2011, Comstock made the move to CareMore Health Plan, where they served as Extensivist and Medical Director. In this role, they provided care for patients enrolled in the CareMore Health Plan in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, and outpatient environments. Troy also helped write and implement the training program for future Extensivists, and monitored utilization of medical services for CareMore patients. Comstock left CareMore in 2013 to take on the role of Medical Director at Optum Medical Network. Troy held this position for nine years before joining WellMed in 2022.

Throughout their career, Comstock has been dedicated to providing high-quality patient care. Troy is a skilled physician and administrator, and has been recognized for their ability to develop successful training programs for medical staff. Comstock is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine, and is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Troy Comstock reports to Carlos Hernandez, President, WellMed Medical Group. They work with Adam Crawford - Regional Medical Director, DFW, Christopher Arnold - Senior Medical Director, and Cindy Johnston - Chief of Medical Affairs, Greater Texas Region.
