TaLees Owens currently serves as a Development Coordinator at VCU Massey Cancer Center, having joined the organization in September 2022. Prior to this role, TaLees worked as a Development Specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University, where responsibilities included enhancing philanthropic efforts for the School of Nursing. Previous experience includes serving as Engagement Manager at the Children's Museum of Richmond, where community partnerships and volunteer programs were revitalized, as well as Program Manager and Program Specialist at Read to Them, managing a literacy program for over 13,000 students. TaLees began a career in the nonprofit sector through internships in local organizations while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Virginia Commonwealth University, which was complemented by a minor in Spanish from the Latin University of Costa Rica.
