Joe Crosswhite

Joe Crosswhite serves as one of six Area Executives for M&T Bank, responsible for the community banking regions that cover Pennsylvania. This includes close to 2,000 employees, 120 branch locations and over $6 billion in commercial loans. His team serves over 1,000 commercial clients who are engaged in a wide range of industries, from small family owned businesses up to multi-billion dollar corporations.

Joe facilitates various enterprise wide efforts for the Commercial Bank with a focus to improve the customer experience and boost employee engagement. He has been with M&T and its predecessor banks for over 35 years. In the 1980s and 1990s, Joe worked in a variety of positions in Maryland and since 1997 has been based in York, Pennsylvania.

Joe is active with many charitable and civic organizations, consistent with M&T’s commitment to give back to the community. Current involvement includes service on the boards of WellSpan Health System and the York Country Day School. His prior service included board roles with the Lancaster Economic Development Corporation, York Hospital, the York College of Pennsylvania, the United Way of York County, York County Community Foundation, Strand Capital Performing Arts Center, Cultural Alliance of York County, Junior Achievement and the Boy Scouts of America (among others).

Joe is married with two adult children and two grandchildren. An Iowa native and graduate of Indiana University (BS) and the University of Washington (MBA), Joe lives in Northern Maryland with his wife Kris.
