Timothy Switaj has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and positions. Timothy began their career in the military as an Officer in the US Army in 2002 and served in various roles, including Command Surgeon for 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). After leaving the military, Switaj worked as the Commander and Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Army Health Clinic Katterbach. Timothy then served as the Corps of Cadets Surgeon and Chief of Cadet Health at Keller Army Community Hospital. Switaj continued to advance their career in healthcare by becoming the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services (Chief Medical Officer/Chief of Medical Staff) at REYNOLDS ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL. Timothy later joined Massachusetts General Hospital as an Administrative Fellow and gained experience in human resources, finance, nursing, quality, and administration. Switaj pursued further education at the Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration, where they earned an MBA/MHA. Timothy then became the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center. Switaj continued their career at the Defense Health Agency, where they served as the Market Assistant Director for Medical Affairs/CMO/Primary Care Optimization Lead. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President and Regional Chief Medical Officer, West Region at WellSpan Health.

Timothy Switaj obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Muhlenberg College in 1998. Timothy then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Uniformed Services University, which they completed in 2002. In 2017, Timothy earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University. Timothy has also obtained several certifications throughout their career, including Certified Physician Executive (CPE), Advanced Life Support (Provider), Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Medical License (Texas Medical Board), Certification in Medical Quality, Board Certified in Family Medicine, Medical License (Virginia Board of Medicine), Advanced Life Support (Instructor and Instructor Trainer), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Instructor and Instructor Trainer), and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS). Timothy's additional qualifications include completing various courses offered by FEMA.
