Sirui Li (Gary)

Sirui(Gary) Li has substantial work experience in the field of software engineering. Sirui(Gary) currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at WePay starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Compass from 2021 to 2022 in the same role, where they were responsible for leading design and collaborating across teams on contracts service infrastructure and API. Sirui(Gary) utilized various technologies such as EKS, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Thrift, grpc, and worked on implementing contracts and policy configuration pages using ReactJS and mobx.

Before joining Compass, Sirui(Gary) Li worked at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from 2018 to 2021. Sirui(Gary) held the position of SDE II from 2019 to 2021 and SDE from 2018 to 2019. At AWS, they were a founding member of AWS Amplify Console, which provided CICD capabilities to web developers. Sirui(Gary) also contributed to the development of a code-gen tool for generating functional backend components like DynamoDB and S3/CloudFront.

Sirui(Gary) Li's earlier experience includes working as an SDE Intern at Amazon in 2017. During this internship, they applied machine learning technology for analyzing risk levels of Amazon products. Sirui(Gary) developed a machine learning server using Python and implemented modern ML techniques such as random forest, decision tree, and SVM.

Sirui(Gary) Li completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, graduating in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they pursued further education at Texas A&M University, studying Computer Science.
