Jack Hagen

Jack Hagen is a Senior Research Associate at Werewool, focusing on engineering proteins to develop sustainable fibers for the fashion industry since February 2024. Previously, Jack worked as a Research Associate II at Andes from November 2021 to August 2023, where responsibilities included engineering bacteria for carbon capture, optimizing molecular tools, and leading small-scale in planta assays. Prior roles included positions as a Research Associate II at Zymergen, where metabolic pathway engineering for industrial fermentation was performed, and as a Research Associate I at Berkeley Yeast, focusing on DNA cloning for brewing applications. Jack's earlier experiences encompass volunteer work at UC Gill Tract Community Farm, laboratory technician duties at Firestone Lab, and undergraduate research at Shabel Lab. Jack holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
