Tom Schippers

Tom Schippers currently serves as an Adviseur Vergunningen (Natuur) at the Ministerie van Defensie, beginning in April 2024. Prior to this role, Tom was employed at Rijksvastgoedbedrijf from September 2015 to April 2024, where Tom held the position of Specialistisch Coördinerend Adviseur (Natuur, Landschap & Cultuurhistorie), acting as the national contact point and coordinator for military activities in relation to environmental legislation. Tom's earlier experience includes various advisory roles at the Ministerie van Defensie from 1998 to 2015, including Senior Adviseur Natuur Landschap en Cultuurhistorie and Adviseur Bos en Natuurbeheer. Additionally, Tom operated as the owner and developer of De Groene Marktplaats, an internet initiative aimed at promoting sustainable consumer behavior, and has worked with Interbestuurlijk Regiebureau Natura 2000 as a Medewerker Steunpunt NATURA 2000. Tom's entrepreneurial experience began with Schippers Bosbeheer & Advies, a consultancy founded in 1997. Tom holds a degree in Bos en natuurbeheer from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences and has also studied Urban Forestry in Finland.
