Ahmore Burger Smidt

Ahmore Burger Smidt currently serves as Director and Head of the Regulatory Practice, as well as the Data Privacy and Cyber Service Leader at Werksmans Attorneys since June 2011. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Director at Deloitte, where Ahmore headed the Competition Law Unit, and Associate Director at KPMG Advisory, leading the Competition Law Practice. Earlier experience includes directorship at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, focusing on merger integration and competition law, and serving as Deputy Commissioner and Head of the Enforcement and Exemptions Division at the Competition Commission South Africa. Ahmore Burger Smidt is an LLD candidate in Data Protection at the University of Pretoria and holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) designation. Additionally, educational qualifications include an MBA from the University of South Africa and a BCom LLB from North-West University.
