Nkonzo Hlatshwayo

Nkonzo Hlatshwayo is a highly experienced competition law expert with nearly 25 years in the field. Currently serving as a Director at Werksmans Attorneys since April 2023, Nkonzo specializes in merger notifications, cartel cases, compliance audits, and more. Previous roles include Director at Nedbank Swaziland and Chairman of the Board at Lawtons Africa. Nkonzo's extensive experience encompasses leadership positions at Hogan Lovells and Webber Wentzel, as well as a pivotal role as Chairman of the Swaziland Competition Commission. Additionally, Nkonzo was the founding head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Division at the Competition Commission South Africa. Academic contributions include serving as Head of the Department of Law at the University of Swaziland. Nkonzo holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Laws from York University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Swaziland, complemented by executive training from Harvard Business School.
