Aliou Sene

Aliou Sene has a strong background in geology, with over 10 years of experience in the mining industry. Currently, they are employed as the Superintendent of Mine Geology/Chief Mine Geologist at Wesdome Gold Mines, where they are responsible for overseeing the Geology Department and its various activities. Previously, Aliou has held roles such as Production Geologist and Team Lead at Newmont Corporation, Underground Mine Geologist at Alamos Gold Inc., and Senior Underground Geologist at Canadian Royalties Inc. and Endeavour Mining. Aliou has also worked as an Exploration Geologist at GENIVAR, Geological Engineer at SGS, and Staff Geologist at Bodycote. Aliou's early career experiences include positions as an Assistant Geologist and Trainee in geological hazards and natural disaster management at Université de Genève, as well as a Geological Engineer Trainee at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. Aliou Sene has a strong educational background in the field of geology and geological hazards. Aliou obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Geology from the University of Geneva in 2004. Aliou then pursued further studies at the EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) and obtained a Master's degree in Engineering Geology from 2005 to 2007.

In 2006, Aliou Sene also attended the University of Geneva, where they obtained a postgraduate degree in Studies in Management and Study of Geological Hazards (CERG-University of Geneva). This demonstrates their interest in management and the study of geological hazards.
