Basak Kus

Basak Kus, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Government at Wesleyan University, where teaching focuses on areas such as Theories of the State, American Capitalism, and Climate Change. Additionally, leadership roles include Chair of the Educational Policy Committee and Faculty Representative to the Board of Trustees. Basak Kus served as a Scholar in Residence at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in 2024, concentrating on green transitions and post-crisis reform. Previous academic positions include Lecturer at University College Dublin and Postdoctoral Researcher at Princeton University, as well as Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer at Yale University.
